Eight quiet years of accounts, one for each year.
Our annual reports are short, plain, and filed on time each year with the Charity Commission. The full statutory accounts are available on the public register for charity 220042; the summaries below are our own letters to donors and the wider Oswestry community.
For the year ending 31 March 2025, our reported income was £63,708 and our reported expenditure was £134,089. The difference was a deliberate, trustee-authorised spend on the preparation work for the Eure's Row roof appeal and a small one-off thermal upgrade in Smale's Cottages. We expect 2025/26 to return to a closer balance.

A note on our reserves
We hold approximately twenty months of running costs in unrestricted reserves, in line with the Almshouse Association's guidance. The Eure's Row roof appeal is held separately as a restricted fund. We do not hold investments in extractive industries or in tobacco. The accumulated fund is managed in a low-cost income portfolio by a Shropshire-based investment manager, who waives their fee on the first £150,000 under management as a quiet act of patronage. We are grateful.
