A small list of small cookies.

We use only essential cookies and anonymous analytics. We do not use advertising, profiling, or cross-site tracking cookies. The full list is below.

A reminder that some correspondence still uses no cookies at all.

In short

  • We use essential cookies (to remember that you have dismissed the cookie banner) and anonymous analytics cookies.
  • We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party profiling.
  • You can refuse cookies in your browser at any time; the site will still work.
  • Cookies are not stored if you choose “Dismiss” on the cookie banner.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small file that a website sets on your device, usually so the site can remember something about your visit. Some cookies are essential (they let a site work); some are statistical (they tell the site owner how many people visited and from where); some are advertising (they follow you around the internet). We use the first two and not the third.

The cookies we use

CookieTypePurposeRetention
esc-cookies-ackEssential (first-party)Remembers that you have dismissed the cookie banner on this device.12 months
_pa_sessionStatistical (first-party)An anonymous identifier used to count unique visits within a single session. No personal data.30 minutes
_pa_idStatistical (first-party)An anonymous identifier used to estimate returning-visitor counts. No personal data.13 months

What we do not use

  • No Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no LinkedIn pixel, no advertising network cookies.
  • No cross-site tracking; no fingerprinting libraries.
  • No personalised content or recommendation engines.

How to control cookies

You can refuse cookies in your browser settings — most browsers offer 'Block all cookies' or 'Block third-party cookies' options. Doing so will not break this site; the banner will simply reappear on each visit. To delete the small set of cookies we set, clear your site data for eureandsmalecharity.org in your browser settings.

Children's data and cookies

This website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly set cookies on the devices of under-13s. If a child has used the site at home, the small set of cookies above is no more intrusive than for an adult; there is no profiling or advertising.

Changes to this policy

If we change which cookies we use, we will update this page and note the change in the next quarterly dispatch. The “Last updated” date will reflect the most recent change.

How to complain

If you are concerned about our use of cookies, please write to [email protected] first. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
